The Vet Reset

It's OK not to be "on call" for friends and family all the time. I've been accosted for advice on runs, at the gym, and at restaurants when clients recognized me or when people at the table found out what I do. Sometimes it's easy to answer a question and other times the annoyance is overwhelming.

We are not bad people for feeling this way. You can love your job and not let it define every moment of your life. It's OK to say something like, "I'm really trying to separate my work life from what I'm doing for fun. My brain just needs a break."
